Summary:In this paper, we present the design procedure of unequal power splitters with arbitrary integer power ratio based on ferrite cores. The unequal power splitter is developed from the transformer-type Wilkinson power splitters. As an example, a 2:1 power splitter operated in 3∼ 300 MHz is proposed, where lumped components are carefully selected to match the input and output ports. The measurement results demonstrate that the VSWR of the input and output ports are less than 1.2, the isolation between the two output ports is more than 27 dB, and the insertion loss is less than 0.6 dB. Such power splitters have small dimensions and very low cost.
