Summary:A new technique based on Proportional-Integral controller in series with a hysteresis limiter for current control of an inverter is employed for integration of a wind driven PM alternator to the utility network. The power electronics architecture is an AC/DC/AC topology interposed between PM alternator and a utility network. The variable DC voltage of wind-driven PM alternator is fed to a current controlled voltage source inverter. The inverter is unidirectional transformer less and is able to extract power even at very low wind speeds. The hybrid control strategy tracks the reference current waveform, even if there are changes in the hysteresis limits.
