High-flux table-top hard X-ray source driven by femtosecond mid-infrared pulses at a 1 kHz repetition rate

Femtosecond X-ray pulses at 8 keV are generated at a 1 kHz repetition rate with a flux of up to 1.5× 10 12 photons/s. A multiple-stage optical parametric chirped-pulse amplifier (OPCPA) serves as driver providing 80 fs pulses at a center wavelength of 5 µm.
