Summary:In this paper a comparitive study of the arithmetic modules in Elliptic curve cryptography is done. The comparison is done making use of the redundant signed digits and canonical signed digits. The arithmetic modules that are subject to comparison are modular adder/subtractor and Karatsuba multiplier. The simulation results are done by using Xilinx ISE 14.2. The synthesis report shows that the arithmetic modules using canonical signed digit have lower delay.
