Comparison of the linewidths of photonic microwave signals generated by semiconductor lasers subject to optical injection and optical feedback

We experimentally compare the linewidths of period-one (P1) nonlinear dynamics of semiconductor lasers subject to optical injection (OI) and optical feedback (OF) for photonic microwave generation. The OF system is shown to have narrower linewidth and better reduction ratio.
