Summary: | Low-power low-speed squirrel-cage motor (LPLSSM) is very suitable for low-speed low-power equipment for its simple structure, reliable operation and low cost. This paper attempts to present the structures and characteristics of LPLSSM. How to select LPLSSM poles is analyzed. The causes and characteristics of selecting multipolar structure for LPLSSM are discussed. Air gap flux density of different air-gap length is obtained by simulation. The stator and rotor slot combination is discussed, and how the rotor resistance influences the performance of the motor is presented. Moreover, a prototype is tested, and the experimental results are analyzed. |
