Summary:In multi-cell joint processing, a concatenating precoder can be constructed and applied among multiple base stations (BS) to enhance the system performance. In practice, the precoder used by each BS is chosen from a pre-determined codebook. Exhaustive search (ES) could be employed for concatenating precoder construction, but the complexity of which might be too high for implementations, especially when the number of collaborative BS and the codebook size are large. In this paper, we present and study three alternative precoder search methods that can achieve similar performance to ES but with much lower complexities. The strengthes of these proposed schemes are illustrated clearly through computer simulations.
