Summary:This paper proposed a circularly polarized rectangular dielectric resonant antenna (RDRA) fed by a strip-line. A relatively high dielectric constant radiating element is placed centrally on the ground plane, and a circularly polarized (CP) field is generated by the excitation of the strip-line which is orthogonally placed on the side wall of the RDRA. At the same time, the energy transmitted by the power divider is coupled through two probes along the strip-line on the DRA sidewall. In addition, by introducing four vertical metal plates around the DR, the frequency range of Axial ratio (AR) is expanded further. Experimental results show that the antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 53.7%(2.22-3.85GHz), a 3dB AR bandwidth of 51.1%(2.27-3.83GHz), and the peak gain is 8.5dBic.
