A Novel Implementation of Time-Domain Diffusive Optical Tomography

In this paper, we present a novel time-resolved diffusive optical tomography (DOT) system, which features multiple source (9 channels), multiple detector (4 channels), and tunable wavelength (755-787 nm). A time resolution around 0.5 ns has been achieved with a high sensitivity desirable for breast...

Summary:In this paper, we present a novel time-resolved diffusive optical tomography (DOT) system, which features multiple source (9 channels), multiple detector (4 channels), and tunable wavelength (755-787 nm). A time resolution around 0.5 ns has been achieved with a high sensitivity desirable for breast imaging. The data acquisition time for a complete scan at one wavelength is less than 10 seconds. Imaging experiments with tissue phantoms have been performed. Small absorbing targets are well located and resolved at a depth of a few cm.
