New algorithm requiring no preprocessing for wideband DOA estimation
A new focusing method for wideband direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is proposed. Based on least-square fitting (LSF), the focusing matrix is obtained by jointly exploiting the auto- and cross-correlation information embedded in the array output. Unlike the modified total least-square (MTLS) met...

Summary: | A new focusing method for wideband direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is proposed. Based on least-square fitting (LSF), the focusing matrix is obtained by jointly exploiting the auto- and cross-correlation information embedded in the array output. Unlike the modified total least-square (MTLS) method, the proposed method does not require any preprocessing for initial values. Numerical results show that the new method outperforms MTLS method, in terms of bias and root-mean-square error (RMSE). |
