Summary: | In the modern warfare the access to the information became a primary factor to achieve military goals: we have to ensure our troops to get proper information in time, and we must thwart our enemies to use their information assets successfully. For a secure communication link we can create jam resistant and temper proof wired connections, but on the other side wireless communication will always endangered by interception and jamming attacks. But it does not mean that we should not be prepared for it. In the field of RF engineering we have to be able to measure and rate the impact of casualty (even friendly) or hostile interference to effectively handle these kinds of threats. In the RF spectrum, both defensive (like ESM 1 , ECCM 2 ) and offensive (like ECM 3 ) military operations need a "test bed" to study the possible tools and tactics in a controlled environment. In my research I enumerated the possibilities of creation such a "test bed". Our final goal was to survey the positive characteristics of the text based communications (no time sensitive data, easy to implement, well known error correction and encryption methods, etc.) and the traditional voice communication (fast, easy to use, "hands free", etc.) without the disadvantages so we figured out a "hybrid" method. |
