Summary:In the logistics equipment manufacture enterprises such as shipbuilding and support roller producing, the steel tube AS/RS was extensively applied and always the core component of the whole system. As the storage and retrieve parts of the raw and residual tubes for the follow up processes, the modeling and optimizing research for the steel tube AS/RS was important to improve the operational efficiency and overall performance of the whole manufacture system. In this paper, based on the characteristics of steel tube manufacture and the requirements of processes connection, we propose a flexible steel tube AS/RS manufacturing system and give a Petri net model used in system simulation to represent the system's dynamic behavior.
