A research on carrier frequency offset estimation for 5G telecommunication

Unlike the conventional OFDM system, many candidates for the 5G telecommunication such as GFDM and FBMC suggest non-orthogonal and asynchronous waveform transmission. While conventional OFDM system usually measures CFO with repetition pattern in time domain, the 5G telecommunication's non-ortho...

Summary:Unlike the conventional OFDM system, many candidates for the 5G telecommunication such as GFDM and FBMC suggest non-orthogonal and asynchronous waveform transmission. While conventional OFDM system usually measures CFO with repetition pattern in time domain, the 5G telecommunication's non-orthogonality requires frequency domain CFO measurement. This paper presents the CFO measurement method for 5G telecommunication and evaluates its performance.
