Summary:This paper presents a sensorless controller design to speed tracking problem for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The technique of passivity requires knowing the load torque, this is estimated with a reduced-order extended state observer, a traditional reduced-order observer and an online algebraic estimator. The speed and position of the rotor are estimated using the currents and voltages of the motor, avoiding the rotor's sensor. The efficiency of the controller is illustrated by the simulation results with Matlab-Simulink/PSIM.
