Summary:The advancement we achieved on the ultra-wide bandwidth optical sampling for high speed optical fiber communication systems was reviewed in this paper. In our optical sampling scheme, the double frequency optical under-sampling was proposed to realize the data rate adaptive measurement. The chirped Z-transform based on signal processing was proposed to improve the synchronization accuracy and speed. The results of 10Gbit/s optical fiber communication systems were discussed, and the double frequency optical sampling system and the prototype optical sampling oscilloscope were demonstrated.
