Summary: | Distributed video coding (DVC) technology is investigated and payed more and more attentions in wireless video applications because of characteristics of its encoder with low-complexity and decoder with high-complexity. Its coding types can be sorted the key and Wyner-Ziv frames, key frames are with conventional intra-coding mode, Wyner-Ziv frames are coded by an encoder that is composed of quantizer following with Slepian-wolf coder, but the Slepian-wolf source coding is realized by use of channel encoding techniques again. During the experiment, we adopt excellent H.264 intra-coding algorithm in key frames and mode decision optimization of intra encoding which is realized by making use of the Sobel algorithm. Slepian-wolf coder which is based on turbo code channel encoding and followed with 2M levels quantizer are used to encode Wyner-Ziv frames. The experiment results demonstrate that 2-7 dB of PSNR is gained and the DVC algorithm is effective to wireless video application. |
