Summary:Intelligent Methods for Intrusion Detection System is hot spot in the field of network security, this paper proposed the genetic neural network to study IDS issues, and based on the traits that the genetic algorithm (GA) is good in global searching and the back propagation (BP) is effective on accurate local searching. Meanwhile, an improved genetic algorithm (IGA) is proposed, corresponding experiment results show that when applying to intrusion detection, IGA-BP performs better on the detection efficiency and false alarm rate.
