Summary:For beam-diagnostic applications of synchrotron light facility at Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), the design and implementation of a system for image acquisition and processing is in progress. The optical system comprises a screen, lens and lighting system. A CCD camera with Gigabit Ethernet interface (GigE Vision) will be a standard device for image acquisition, to be undertaken with an EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) via a process variables (PVs) channel, analysis of the properties is made with a Mat lab tool to evaluate the beam profile (sigma), beam-size position and tilt angle etc. Various fitting strategies that affect the analysis results were discussed in this paper. The computer-simulated beam profiles with varied background noise and conditions are used to evaluate the duration of computing and to estimate the fitting errors.
