Summary: | This paper describes a 2.45GHz 6kW CW GaN solid state microwave generator development which was mainly focused on it's compact size (507 × 392.4 × 192mm (L × W × H)) with 56% of high SSPA head efficiency. The core part of this microwave generator, GaN on SiC transistor operates as a class B amplifier to maximize efficiency, 74%. Entire design process of this microwave generator, packaging of a transistor, SSPA design, output power combining, exterior design and software control is optimized to generate a stable 6kW continuous wave signal. |
