Summary: | Fixation devices are widely used in reconstruction of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Different techniques of fixation have been introduced that include interference fixation, cortical fixation, and transfixation due to the high demands for an optimal graft fixation. However, there has been a major concern with existing fixation devices used in the surgery. During the past years alone, various cases and issues on the complications of the devices have been reported. This literature review aims to assess different techniques of fixation, materials of fixation devices, and highlight potential complications caused by graft fixation devices in ACL reconstruction. |
