Summary:This article presents an overview of the architectural and algorithmic features of TEAMS-RT, a real-time fault-isolation tool in Qualtech Systems' suite of software tools for integrated diagnostics, system and maintenance. Following an introduction to the fault-modeling methodology underlying the algorithms, the approach used by TEAMS-RT to isolate faults based on received test results is presented. An overview of a data-preprocessing front-end to TEAMS-RT that computes test-results is also provided; this module makes the tool usable in a wide range of application scenarios, provided a library of suitable fault-detection modules is available. A prototype library of signal-processing routines has been implemented to support detection of faults in aircraft flight systems. Finally, we present issues and results pertaining to a distributed architecture of TEAMS-RT for deployment in large systems.
