Summary: | The development of information and communication systems shows that images are getting more important in everyday life. With this increasing flow of images available, one may think that their quality is decreasing. Furthermore, it is becoming difficult to keep the attention of the viewer. This situation can be inverted by working on the quality of scenarios but also with good picture quality and nice effects. In video broadcast production, texture synthesis is restricted to rough and repeated patterns. The present paper deals with a new tool that is able to generate in real time video a large set of textures to be keyed in a natural picture or to be used as various advanced transitions. It addresses all the problem of performance as well as the problem of limitedness in terms of creativity [Ribiai et al. 1992, 1994].< > |
