Summary: | This paper presents a novel linear stepper ultrasonic motor, which is employed the principle of Differential Reciprocating Method (DRM) with dual stators, and deals with a control method with pulses strain. The process of driving the moving object is analyzed in detail. It is implemented for the ultrasonic motor to feed in step at unidirection and in differential reciprocating method at bidirection. The amount of feed and moving direction are determined by the difference of the amount of pulses to drive dual stators respectively. The dimension of the prototype is 45mm×20 mm×40 mm. The prototype has been used in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) efficiently. The machining test verifies that the new device is suitable for small-hole EDM drilling. |
