Quantum engineering of colloidal core-shell quantum dots: towards non blinking quantum dots and biexcitonic emission

In this paper, we show that the synthesis of thick shell enables to strongly reduce the blinking of colloidal quantum dots. Summary:In this paper, we show that the synthesis of thick shell enables to strongly reduce the blinking of colloidal quantum dots. It opens also new opportunities in terms of quantum engineering of the career wavefunctions. Modifying the Auger effect efficiency which is a crucial parameter to control the quantum optical properties of an individual nanocrystal fluorescence, we were able to observe radiative recombinations of multi electron-hole pairs.
