Sub-20fs ultraviolet pulses generated by achromatic phase-matching sum frequency mixing

17.4 fs ultraviolet pulses with >400 nJ were generated by achromatic sum frequency mixing of 805 nm pulses and ultra-broadband visible pulses. Angular dispersion was introduced to achieve broadband phase-matching by a prism pair.
