Summary: | In this paper, we explain how it is possible to significantly reduce CO 2 emissions on passenger cars, by improving the alternator efficiency. This document focus on the reduction of the main important losses: iron losses, copper losses and rectifying losses. Combining these improvements, we will show that the alternator efficiency can be increased of about 10 points, from a mean of 70 % today to more than 80 % for the next generations of alternators. |
