Summary:The utilization of HPLC methods is very useful for the determination of some physicochemical characteristics of compounds. In the current work, an analytical HPLC method is applied for the determination of pK a values and lipophilicity parameter of 10-HDA. The retention factor of the investigated compound is determined at different pH ranges of the mobile phase. The derived mathematical description of the dependency of retention factor of pH is a sigmoid curve. The second derivative corresponds to the pK a of the investigated compound. The pK a and lipophilicity parameter values are the most important parameters which characterize the processes of penetration of biological active substances through the cellular membrane under different conditions.
