Summary: | Vadavucode – Puthencruz water supply system is a combined gravity and pumping system with an intermittent mode of supply. The source of the system is Ramamangalam River from where raw water is taken to Choondy treatment plant and the treated water is being sent to a booster pump house at Pannikuzhi to serve the benefited population. A household survey is conducted to find out the effectiveness of the existing system. It is found that users at higher elevated points and tail end colonies do not receive water with adequate pressure, especially during summer seasons. Analysis of the existing network is carried out using the WaterGEMS Software and critical problems were identified. |
