Summary:The Methods Lab collected 53 user research methods, with the aim of building the definitive resource of user research methods in design. The Design Council has compiled a 'method bank' Website with around 70 user research methods for industry use, and some of the methods are now available at its website. It is focused on such designer-orientated user research methods, including designer-generated user research techniques and tools. Sprout Design and the Cambridge Engineering Design Centre are developing a software-based tool that uses task analysis to estimate the number of people in the UK who would be excluded from using any particular product. Personas are hypothetical archetypes, representing real people throughout the design process. Persona cards were produced by the project team, representing seven members of a fictional family. Informance is a type of user research method that features both 'Representation' and 'Co-design'.
