Summary:Agriculture is currently given a lot of importance globally in order to supply biomass to the bioenergy industries and also to provide supply food to the world's expanding population. Unfortunately, there are a number of concerns about the environment and to people's health linked with the expansion of agricultural activities to meet these expanding needs. During the evaluation of literature on the subject, articles focused on farming, the environment, and the public's health in addition to their interactions were given particular consideration. Additionally, data supporting the thesis was acquired from agricultural and environmental authorities' publications. The use of biosolids and animal manures, the use of agricultural pesticides, the management of post-harvest residue, irrigation, and tillage activities were all recognised as agricultural practices with potential detrimental effects on the environment and human health. Among the most significant environmental effects were nutrient, pathogen, heavy metal, and pesticide contamination of soil, water, and air, as well as particulate matter, noxious gases, and pathogen contamination of air. Neurological and reproductive problems, cardiovascular hazards, malignancies and other illnesses (of the liver, kidneys, lung, and skin), gastroenteritis, skin allergies, the methemoglobinemia were a few of the effects on human health that were noted. The implementation of best management practices in agricultural systems with experimental support and an ongoing understanding of the effects of the examined agricultural practices on environmental quality and the health of humans remain essential.
