Summary:The aim of the chapter is to investigate the EU’s digital competitiveness vs. the US and China, including both an input- and outcome-oriented evaluation. The digital competitiveness drivers are assessed using the International Digital Economy Index, while author’s own calculated Outcome Digital Competitiveness Index is used for the outcome component. The survey confirms the existence of a gap between the EU and the US and China’s rapid catching up to both. The gap between the EU and the US in digital competitiveness drivers seems to be decreasing. So far, the EU has maintained its advantage over China in this field. However, the EU showed a weakening position vs. the US and China in most aspects of the outcome component of digital competitiveness. The EU’s advantage over China has diminished and its distance to the US has increased.
