Linalool, one of the major phytoconstituents of volatile coriander oil, has been reported for its antidepressant-like activity. Mahendra and Bisht demonstrated the anxiolytic effect of coriander seeds ethanol extract, wherein the animals treated with the extract (100 and 200 mg/kg) showed less anxiety-like behavior compared to the control animals in four anxiety models, viz., EPM, LDT, open field, and social interaction test. Karami et al. reported coriander's aerial parts' antioxidant and anticonvulsive effect (leaves, stems, and twigs).
