Summary: | Audio watermarking has been used, or proposed for use, for copyright protection, broadcast monitoring, content integrity verification, audience measurement, etc, for both audio and audiovisual content. In the case of audiovisual content audio watermarking has advantage over video watermarking due to lower processing requirements and better robustness vs. perceptual quality tradeoff. In order to minimize processing requirements at embedding side, while maintaining high perceptual quality and robustness, it is necessary to develop techniques for audio watermarking in compressed domain. This paper will address what adjustments in audio watermarking technology are needed to match it to a particular perceptual audio compression technique, such as AAC. Those adjustments make minimal impact on watermark robustness or audio quality. |
