Summary:The on-site inspection of reservoir dam safety evaluation requires the detection of crack characteristics of hydraulic concrete structures. Traditional methods mainly rely on manual detection, the recognition results of which are often imprecise and incomplete due to the subjectivity of the worker and the difficulty in reaching some parts of the detection objects. In this paper, a multi-point fixed-distance static photography of the cracks in the floor of the spillway of the Anhua Reservoir is carried out by using the UAV imaging technology. During the shooting process, the calibration object is used to calculate the imaging accuracy. Then, the improved digital image processing algorithm is proposed to carry out image processing, and the maximum crack width and crack centerline length under given accuracy are calculated.
