Summary:In recent years, the application of good IT governance and management practices based on reference frameworks and international standards has gained significant importance, especially when talking about the COBIT framework (Control Objectives for Information Technology and Related Technologies) in its various versions. Many of the organizations today do not have a defined or documented strategic direction, due to the lack of adequate management within their organization. That is why a systematic literature mapping was conducted to find studies related to IT governance and management, which serve as a reference for the project in development. This study is based on the methodology of "Systematic Mapping in Software Engineering" proposed by Petersen; initially a search was made in databases and institutional repositories where 173 documents were found; Following this, an analysis was carried out where various inclusion and exclusion criteria were implemented and a total of 58 documents were obtained, directly related to the subject of the investigation, in the necessary ones there is sufficient information on the justification, the method of implementation and recommendations for success in the various organizations that apply it.
