Summary:In this paper, a modified single-phase dual output converter is proposed. It is a binary asymmetric multilevel multi-output single-phase inverter (AMLMOI) with four-quadrant switches, which helps in blocking unwanted feedback current. The presented AMLMOI provides the independent operation of two connected AC loads. It retains benefits from symmetric multilevel dual output inverters, such as reducing switching stress and low THD of output voltage. Furthermore, it has fewer DC sources as the number of levels are moving high. The phase disposition carrier-based PWM technique is used for select switching states. The converter is controlled by the cost function, based on Hamming distance of the switching states, which also gave satisfied output at different frequencies of connected AC loads. The proposed AMLMOI is operated at independent load conditions such as amplitude, phases, frequency, and load values. Hence, the presented configuration is well suited for high power medium voltage applications. The performance of the proposed inverter topology is validated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
