Summary:The synchronized data collection from vital sign monitors has been an ongoing issue. The widely used program S5Collect is a valuable tool especially for research purposes, moreover, in order to customize this program, an added plug-in with trial-specific modification can facilitate the data collection. The main aim of this study was to create a user-friendly plug-in for data capturing in operating rooms during anaesthetic care. The plug-in described was designed in co-operation with anesthesiologists in the LabVIEW software and verified on a fullbody simulator. Results showed that data captured via plug-in correlated well with the data from the simulator. This plug-in is planned to be used for data collection during robotic prostatectomy to analyze hemodynamic and ventilatory changes over the course of this operation, however, it can be easily adjusted for different clinical trials.
