Summary: | In recent years, commercialization of the second generation high temperature superconducting (2G HTS) tape has been realized and widely used in development of various electronic device applications. This paper emphases on the experimental research of twisting properties of 2G HTS tape at 77 K, self-field. Geometric deformable model is firstly established to analyze the twist strain of the single tape. Mechanical properties under different twisting pitches are experimentally carried out by measuring the critical current Ic. Consequently, the minimum twisting pitch is determined. The results can provide a useful reference for research and development applications of 2G HTS tapes. |
