Design of an electrophoretic module for protein separation

In this paper we discuss the model, theory and design optimization of an electrophoretic separation system configured as a split flow thin fractionation, which can be used for protein separation from milk samples as part of an integrated analytical system for detection of contaminants or pathogens....

Summary:In this paper we discuss the model, theory and design optimization of an electrophoretic separation system configured as a split flow thin fractionation, which can be used for protein separation from milk samples as part of an integrated analytical system for detection of contaminants or pathogens. In particular, we describe the design and the fabrication strategy to achieve optimal separation and a sample-processing throughput in the order of ml/min.
