Summary:This work is about an architecture of software for the signal processing of a transponder, operating in ICAO mode S, to be processed by a CPU, with sequential processing, under the constraint to reply in less than 128 μs after the leading edge of the preamble. This architecture is then used to propose an further architecture for the implementation of an emulator of many transponder (aircrafts) working in realtime. The emulator runs in a standard PC platform, and act as a tool to enable stress test the algorithms of signal processing of a secondary radar, in order to improve its robustness and performance of detection, enable it act tracking real trajectories and managing data from many aircrafts. This implementation of signal processing in software for an emulator of transponders innovates in the subject of aircrafts emulation as the majority of implementations of emulator of transponders are with processing in hardware or processing in hardware defined by software.
