Summary: | Mobile sink plays a pivotal role for data collection in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). But, sensor nodes close to mobile sink are bound to change their routes to Base Station(BS) or mobile sink frequently. As a result, they will generate excessive energy consumption of sensors and cause a very large delivery delay. In this paper, an energy-efficient mechanism for data collection based on single static sink and single mobile sink is proposed. The main goal is to improve network performance. We evaluated the network performance of our proposed scheme through both mathematical analysis and extensive simulations. The results show that the proposed mechanism can enhance the network lifetime and reduce the data collection latency. |
