A reduced-size look-up-table for ADC sample-times of a single-chip non-uniform-sampling digital-beamformer for ultrasound medical imaging

Summary: | The size of the look-up-table to store the ADC sample-times was reduced by around 200 times to implement a single-chip non-uniform-sampling 32-channel digital-beamformer for ultrasound medical imaging. It was achieved by storing the 2nd derivatives of sample-times w.r.t. focal point numbers on a scanline. The proposed digital-beamformer includes the LUT, sample clock generators for ADCs, LNAs, VGAs, ADCs, and DBF in a single-chip. A 15-dot image was successfully reconstructed by the proposed chip with simulation. |
