Summary:In this paper, the spread-spectrum binary countdown scheme with generalized modified prime sequence codes (GMPSC) is considered as the MAC protocol in the multi-hop network. We focus on the code division multiple access (CDMA) based relay network using binary countdown scheme with GMPSC. The packet success rate and the throughput of binary countdown scheme with GMPSC are evaluated by taking into account the influence of the free space propagation loss and the channel noise. Furthermore, binary countdown scheme with GMPSC is compared with the spread ALOHA scheme. Fairness in communication with a relay node between nodes is investigated. As a result, it is found that binary countdown scheme with GMPSC outperforms the spread ALOHA scheme using orthogonal codes. Moreover, binary countdown scheme with GMPSC can maintain fairness of the binary countdown success rate among nodes. The simulation result are in good agreement with theoretical calculations.
