Summary:In this paper the possibility of using optical information technologies to analyze the state of the elements of the upper structure of the railway track is considered. Defects in transport infrastructure objects are recognized by image analysis, and fiber optics are used to measure their deformations. The process of determining the state of the railway track is based on measuring a set of parameters of a light pulse and identifying changes in these parameters depending on the deformation of the rails. This direction is especially relevant for track sections of variable stiffness, on which additional deformations often appear due to seasonal changes in the state of the railway track and the difference in the parameters of the base stiffness.
