Broadband Sub-50 GHz Microstrip Patch Antenna for 5G wireless Application

This work proposes a broadband (32.18 - 49.4 GHz) miniaturized (4.5 mm × 5 mm × 1.588 mm) antenna for sub-50 GHz 5G wireless applications. Slots are optimally placed on the radiating patch and ground of the Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna (RMPA) to achieve broadband characteristics. With a high...

Summary:This work proposes a broadband (32.18 - 49.4 GHz) miniaturized (4.5 mm × 5 mm × 1.588 mm) antenna for sub-50 GHz 5G wireless applications. Slots are optimally placed on the radiating patch and ground of the Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna (RMPA) to achieve broadband characteristics. With a highest gain of 5.5 dBi at 41 GHz, proposed antenna exhibits 17.22 GHz wider impedance bandwidth and percentage bandwidth having 42.2%.
