Summary:In order to attain Maximum Power Point tracking (MPPT) in front end PV system, a high boost converter is designed, the work proposes a hybrid switching capacitor approach and a non-isolated high gain boost converter without the employing VMC's or coupled inductors. A substantial gain in voltage is attained when the switches are operated with two distinct duty ratios. Principle of FLC are applied to control, performance improvement, and efficiency optimization of the duty cycle ratio dynamically on the PV array output. The fundamental benefit of converter is, considerable voltage gain can be attained without need of extremely high duty ratios and lower's the voltage stress on the switch in the converter. MPPT (maximum power point) technique is being employed, change in PV power and PV array voltage are considered as fuzzy linguistic features in this technique, converter reference signal is generated using fuzzy logic. Simulations results of high gain boost converter is obtained using MATLAB/Simulink platform.
