Summary:The purpose of this article is to enhance the effectiveness and performance of the energy storage system of an electric vehicle by investigating the state of charge (SOC) of three batteries. A battery management system (BMS) with passive cell balancing has been developed on Matlab Simulink. Furthermore, a novel protective system has been proposed to avoid excessive discharges and overcharges. The obtained results prove the use of the developed model for future improvements.
