Summary:This study aims to enhance the driving range of electric vehicles which applied wound field synchronous motor (WFSM) considering regenerative braking based on driving conditions. Addressing the issue of the field flux ripple by armature reaction, the sensitivity analysis is conducted by motoring and generating. Finally, based on the results of sensitivity analysis, the optimal design of WFSM is proposed to show improved characteristic of field flux ripple.
