Summary: | The purpose of this study is to achieve an effective asset management system within a three-dimensional building information modeling (BIM) for university laboratories' assets as a case study. Asset management (AM) offers great importance towards the development of information-building databases with the most appropriate data. The study adopted an integrated methodology to follow for an optimum asset management system, starting from collecting data using laser scanning, then the data processing phase, to a fully developed BIM model to manage the facilities during the 3D visualization phase. Although the development of asset management applications that support the monitoring process. The author finds that the integrated research between AM and BIM is a process-oriented approach with great improvements toward an effective management system. The results of this research module point to the importance of using integrated systems with the aid of laser scanning technology to achieve a perfect 3D visualization of the labs. Another important finding is the importance of computerized asset management software, which facilitates the monitoring process of different assets. |
