Summary:Internet of Things (IoT) has drawn a lot of attention in recent years because of its potential to solve real world challenges observed in several application domains. Its expanding trans-disciplinary usages have changed the way we live. One of the IoT applications includes smart healthcare, which connects sensors, smart devices, machinery, patients, and doctors to the Internet. It can be utilized to minimize the load on healthcare systems brought on by an ageing population and an increase in chronic sickness. When it comes to health bills, resource requirements, availability, and personal care, healthcare have become a major socio-economic concern, particularly for the elderly persons. IoT has enabled doctors to do remote monitoring, chronic illness management, and senior care of secluded patients, and looking after indoor patients, in an effective and intelligent manner as well. Furthermore, due to remote monitoring of patients by physicians, the length of hospital stay can be reduced that reduces the expenses. This study examines some smart healthcare trends that have transformed the traditional healthcare system by improving health management efficiency through IoT implementation.
